At the core of the ESA BIC Oberpfaffenhofen service portfolio is the 2 years StartUp Program, which assists the entire process of company foundation – from formulating an initial concept to opening for business. During this incubation phase, the AZO puts its comprehensive infrastructure at company founders’ disposal, including state-of-the-art offices, communication equipment, and corresponding services. Entrepreneurs eligible for participation are those who can submit a promising company concept aiming to develop and market products or services based aerospace technologies and infrastructures.

In addition to the aforementioned services and provisions, the ESA BIC package for founders comprises the technical support, where experts from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the European Space Agency (ESA) work with entrepreneurs to test, optimize, and develop ideas into sophisticated business plans using clearly defined milestones. By systematically identifying and eliminating potential vulnerabilities, the ESA BIC Oberpfaffenhofen ensures extremely short start-up periods and drastically reduces the risk of failure.

Freely selectable coaching sessions constitute another integral part of the program. These sessions are closely tailored to each entrepreneur’s needs to complement individual strengths and address weaknesses. When necessary, the ESA BIC also aids in securing further support and procuring venture capital.

The Office Accommodation shall be provided by the ESA BIC Oberpfaffenhofen to the tenant in accordance with the "Contractor with Office" standard as modified by the provisions below.

The ESA BIC is located at the new Aerospace Technology Park Oberpfaffenhofen (ASTO). Since June 2009 the needed office accommodation for technostarters is available in the first building, which has been accomplished in the meantime.

1. The office accomodation of technostarters includes:

For the use of the infrastructure and the additional services the technostarter shall pay a monthly rent of EUR625 plus tax for the incubation period. After the 24 months office infrastructure will be offered by astopark GmbH at reasonable market prices. AZO is working together with the ASTO management to support the sustainable development of the technostarters at the Oberpfaffenhofen aerospace location also after the incubation phase of 24 months. This is the main goal of this co-operation.
