Active Driver Assistance Meets Intuitive Ergonomics
Vemcon increases the productivity of mobile machines. Our control system simplifies the challenges involved in handling excavators, graders, wheel loaders, and agricultural and municipal machinery. Operators can thus work more safely, rapidly, and precisely with their machines.
Along with our OEM customers, we are developing and realizing a simplified operating concept based on the Vemcon control system platform. We plan to apply the system and its components to meet customer-specific needs in timely, cost-efficient manner while providing corresponding serial products.
To increase the productivity of existing machines in the market, Vemcon also sells retrofit systems. These products are distributed by original equipment dealers to contractors and other machine operator companies.
The Vemcon system simplifies mobile machine operation through intuitive ergonomics and active driver assistance.
It essentially consists of four components:
uniGRIP – an intelligent joystick that supports intuitive machine operations
IMU – a robust, high-performance safety sensor that measures machine motion
Co-Pilot - algorithms that automate and optimize machine movements
Vio - robust, high-performance safety ECU for automating and controlling mobile machines
To allow for intuitive and efficient machine operations, we provide individualized joysticks based on the uniGRIP platform. Through our efficient design method, we adapt the joysticks’ ergonomics to each specific OEM machine, its drivers, and their working processes.
We also offer active driver assistance functions based on IMU, Vio, and our Co-Pilot algorithms. Vemcon adapts these model-based algorithms to the OEM in question and machine-specific requirements.
Meanwhile, our platform-based system architecture and standardized design methods make Vemcon application services efficient with respect to both time and costs. OEM customers can thus save time and money compared to in-house developments.

The uniGRIP Motorgrader control system radically simplifies the challenging operation of motorgraders.
The excavator Co-Pilot facilitates operators’ work by autonomously controlling tool orientation. Both systems increase machine productivity by simplifying handling.
From space to industry
To increase machine productivity, Vemcon uses inertial navigation and sensor data fusion algorithms. This technology originated from the space sector; rockets and satellites use inertial measurement units to control their trajectories. In mobile machinery, inertial measurement units are used to measure and control the motion of machine equipment.
